Terms of Use

Fontessa is licensed to you, not sold. The free version is yours to keep. Paid plans are billed by Apple; subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and the lifetime unlock is a single payment with nothing to cancel.
Fontessa is also covered by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which applies to every app downloaded from the App Store. Where these terms and that agreement disagree, that agreement wins.
1. The licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Fontessa on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app, except to the extent that applicable law says you may.
The text styles the app produces are ordinary Unicode characters. Text you create with Fontessa is yours; we claim nothing in it.
2. What the free version includes
The free version gives you 39 text styles and 22 keyboard themes, with no time limit and no expiry. It shows advertisements. You may optionally watch a rewarded advertisement to unlock everything temporarily; that unlock lasts for the period stated at the time and then ends.
3. Purchases, billing and renewal
Fontessa Pro is available as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-off lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy, and may differ by country.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Trial availability is decided by Apple and may differ if you have used one before.
- The lifetime unlock is a single payment. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel.
Purchases can be restored on any device signed in to the same Apple Account with Restore purchases in the app.
4. Refunds
Apple handles all payments and therefore all refunds. We cannot issue one. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something is broken, please write to us as well — we would rather fix it.
5. Advertisements
The free version shows advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. We do not choose the individual ads. Any paid plan removes them.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Fontessa to harass anyone, to impersonate a person or organisation, or to break the law or the rules of the app you are typing in. You are responsible for what you write.
7. Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove styles, themes and features. We aim to keep what you have paid for working, and will not remove a feature from the paid tier without good reason. The app may be unavailable during App Store or service outages beyond our control.
8. No warranty
Fontessa is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that every app or website will display every Unicode style correctly — how text appears elsewhere depends on that platform's font support, not on Fontessa.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you are a consumer you keep every right your local law gives you.
10. Apple's role
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. If you do not, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
